Port of Houston: Extending Your Reach to the Gulf of Mexico and Beyond
Our Houston terminal facility, located at the Turning Basin City Docks, has the only non-unionised workforce, allowing us to offer competitive rates for vessel and terminal services for the discharging and loading of general cargoes and special project cargoes. Led by a team whose strong managerial experience offers a wealth of experience, we offer creative solutions and a new state-of-the-art lighting and security system allows for night work with a high degree of security. The security is further enhanced by being located next to the US military sealift command vessels which allows us to direct and indirectly control access to the facility.
All of our Gulf operations are major steel handling ports for importing and exporting of cargoes. Providing immediate access to major Southern cities across the United States and Mexico, our Houston facility is strategically located near I-10, the 610 Loop, and Highway 225 and are directly serviced by the Union Pacific Railroad. We have the capacity to handle quarter-ramp ocean going vessels that are similar to an Astrakhan. We offer pure steel transloading practices between mode of transportation; vessel, rail, and truck with complete sorting capabilities.
Our facilities are serviced by a 850 linear foot dock with a seasonal draught range of 34 – 37 feet, supported by a 40,000 sq ft. warehouse and 6 acres of open storage. An additional 2 acres is being utilized as a foreign trade zone (FTZ) for the importing and exporting of goods. Our modern and well-maintained equipment consists of fork-lifts with a capability to move goods that weigh from 6,000 to 65,000 lbs, multiple shore cranes, yard trucks and plenty of heavy lift gear.
